Positive Edge Journal

The Oceania Australia Foundation in partnership with OSFO recognised that there was a gap in athlete preparation that was causing health issues for athletes, particularly when they were injured or retired.  Athletes, having focussed on medal goals were unable to change focus and thinking and this was resulting in a rise in mental illness.  The journal was created to help build resilient thinking and to enable athletes to prepare for life after sport and any other change they may face when things don't go to plan.

The journal has a three-step weekly process where individuals learn, grow and flourish by learning and applying wellbeing capabilities that support both sport and life endeavours.  Using scientifically validated positive psychology interventions this journal can be done as a solo journey or in groups and will be supported by an online series of webinars accessible soon on our website.  Our aim is to make this journal available across the Oceania region through sport and educational authorities.

VISION

The vision for the journal is to ensure that every athlete has access to the tools that can build their mental fitness and equip them to be the best version of themselves and better equipped to meet life's challenges as they arise.  This is not only as athletes but as people serving in their local communities.
